What to Include in a Takedown Notice (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3))

To be effective, a takedown notice must include all of the following:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized agent
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works)
3. Identification of the allegedly infringing material, including the URL where it appears on our site
4. Your contact information — name, address, phone, email
5. A good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Response Timeline

We acknowledge properly-formed takedown notices within 24 hours and remove or disable access to the identified material promptly. We notify the user who posted the material (where identifiable) of the takedown.

Counter-Notice Procedure

If your content was removed and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. §512(g). A counter-notice must include:

1. Your physical or electronic signature
2. Identification of the material removed and the location where it previously appeared
3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
4. Your name, address, phone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or the Southern District of New York if outside the U.S.), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original takedown notice

Repeat-Infringer Policy

Accounts or users found to have repeatedly infringed copyrighted material will be terminated, in accordance with 17 U.S.C. §512(i).
